I grew up around people who knew how to work hard.
I was born and raised in Cape Town. I learned early that people can have enormous skill, determination and something valuable to offer, yet still have to work far harder than they should to make a living from it.
I carried that work ethic into my own career. I helped businesses in the United States and United Kingdom grow, took on the difficult projects and spent stretches working seven days a week. I learned a great deal, but I also learned how easily capable people become the ones everyone depends on.
That is a hard place to live. The work gets done, yet there is barely space left to think about the business or the life it was meant to support.
WHAT I BELIEVE
“Being excellent at the work should not mean being trapped by everything around it.”
That belief is why I look closely at the everyday reality of a business: the enquiries that go quiet, the handoffs that require rescuing, the numbers nobody has time to examine, and the decisions the owner keeps carrying alone.
WHAT I DO NOW
I bring clarity to the part of business that often feels too big to name.
As the founder of STARK Technologies, I work with owners to understand how their business actually runs. We find where time, money and opportunity are being lost, decide what needs attention first and build better ways for people to work.
Sometimes the next step is a clearer process or a different decision. Sometimes it is a tailored system that lets people, AI and automation work together. The answer should come from the business in front of us.
BEYOND THE DESK
There is a life on the other side of the work.
I’m building STARK and writing because I want more owners to have the freedom to enjoy it. I want the business to support the people who made it possible, including the person who started it.
For me, that life includes time outside, my people, my dogs and room to keep learning. I don’t think wanting those things makes an owner less ambitious. It gives the ambition a purpose.
